Consultant Pediatric Emergency Physician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to join the Pediatric Emergency Department of a leading tertiary‑care hospital. The role involves delivering rapid, compassionate emergency care to infants, children and adolescents while providing clinical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive emergency assessment and management of acute medical, surgical and trauma conditions in pediatric patients.
• Lead resuscitation efforts, including advanced airway management, vascular access and life‑saving interventions.
• Carry out emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction and splinting, wound repair and procedural sedation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists and other emergency physicians.
• Contribute to departmental strategy, develop clinical pathways, and participate in quality‑improvement activities.
• Mentor junior doctors, residents and nursing staff, and engage with families in a culturally sensitive manner.
• Participate in teaching, research and representation of the department at conferences.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics with PEM fellowship, or Emergency Medicine with pediatric specialization.
• 8–10 years of post‑specialization experience, including consultant‑level practice.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
