Consultant Pediatric Emergency Physician

About the role

The leading tertiary‑care hospital in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to deliver expert, timely, and compassionate emergency care to infants, children, and adolescents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency assessment and management for acute medical, surgical and trauma conditions in pediatric patients.
• Lead resuscitation efforts, including advanced airway management, vascular access, and life‑saving interventions.
• Perform emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction and splinting, wound repair, and procedural sedation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists and other emergency physicians.
• Contribute to strategic development, clinical pathways, quality‑improvement initiatives and departmental governance.
• Mentor junior doctors, residents and nursing staff, and engage families with clear, compassionate communication.
• Participate in teaching, clinical research, case presentations and represent the department at conferences.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics with PEM fellowship, or Emergency Medicine with pediatric specialization.
• 8–10 years post‑specialization experience, including consultant‑level practice.
• Strong clinical expertise in pediatric resuscitation, trauma and acute care.
• Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
