Consultant Physician – Anesthesia

About the role

SSMC is seeking a compassionate Consultant Physician specialized in Anesthesia to deliver high‑quality patient care in Abu Dhabi. The role involves diagnosing, treating and managing a broad range of medical conditions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, take detailed medical histories and address their concerns.
• Diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses and disorders across various specialties.
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests, and clearly explain results to patients.
• Provide counseling on diet, hygiene, preventive health and lifestyle modifications.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records.
• Develop and recommend comprehensive treatment plans, including prescribing medications or therapies.
• Explain medical procedures and ensure informed consent.
• Collaborate with other physicians, refer to specialists when needed, and work closely with nurses and allied health staff.
• Adhere to medical laws and regulations, such as patient privacy standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree with successful completion of residency and internship.
• Valid state license and certification to practice medicine.
• Broad knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating diverse illnesses.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong leadership, organizational and detail‑oriented skills.
• Patience, compassion and a commitment to continuous professional development.
