Consultant Physician Gastroenterology

About the role

The Consultant Physician in Gastroenterology will lead and supervise the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care for patients within SEHA’s Abu Dhabi facilities. The role combines clinical excellence with responsibility for training and mentoring junior medical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, manage and treat patients according to best-practice standards in gastroenterology.
• Oversee clinical activities of junior doctors and ensure safe, effective patient care.
• Lead ward rounds, reassess in-patients and out-patients, and document clinical information promptly.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and coordinate care with other specialties.
• Support and implement hospital policies, performance-management processes and peer-review activities.
• Assist the Division Chief with scheduling, recruitment and ensuring adequate medical coverage.
• Ensure appropriate utilization of resources and compliance with admission, discharge and procedural protocols.

Required profile

• Demonstrated clinical excellence in gastroenterology.
• Experience providing leadership and training to junior medical staff.
• Ability to adhere to hospital policies and performance-management systems.
