Consultant Specialist Ophthalmologist – Advanced Eye Care & Microsurgery

About the role

Health7Careers is seeking a Consultant Specialist Ophthalmologist to join a leading multispecialty hospital in Dubai. The role involves delivering comprehensive eye‑care services, from diagnosis to advanced surgical interventions, within a state‑of‑the‑art ophthalmology department.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of ocular conditions, including refractive errors, cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders and infections.
• Perform cataract surgery and other microsurgical procedures using advanced ophthalmic equipment.
• Conduct thorough eye examinations, including visual acuity, slit‑lamp and fundoscopic evaluations.
• Utilise diagnostic technologies such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), visual field testing and retinal imaging.
• Provide pre‑operative assessment and post‑operative follow‑up for surgical patients.
• Collaborate with optometrists, endocrinologists, neurologists and other specialists for multidisciplinary care.
• Educate patients on eye health, preventive strategies and post‑treatment care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with UAE healthcare regulations.

Required profile

• Medical degree with board certification in Ophthalmology.
• Minimum 3 + years of post‑specialty clinical experience.
• Experience in both outpatient clinics and surgical settings.
• Strong commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.

Required skills

• Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) operation and interpretation.
• Visual field testing proficiency.
• Retinal imaging techniques.
• Cataract surgery and microsurgical skills.
