Demi Chef de Partie - Garde Manger

About the role

The Demi Chef de Partie – Garde Manger will join the Westin Dubai Marina kitchen team, focusing on the preparation of cold dishes and supporting overall kitchen operations. This full‑time position reports to the Chef de Partie and works in a fast‑paced, high‑standards hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble cold foods, ensuring presentation and quality standards are met.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Monitor food temperatures, test doneness, and maintain food safety and hygiene standards.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and keep the kitchen area clean and disinfected.
• Follow company safety policies, report maintenance needs, and maintain a professional appearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related kitchen experience, preferably in garde‑manger or cold‑food preparation.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Food preparation techniques including chopping, portioning, and measuring.
• Operation of kitchen equipment (ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers).
• Food safety and hygiene practices, including temperature monitoring.
