Demi Chef De Partie – Pastry Kitchen

About the role

The Demi Chef De Partie will work in the pastry kitchen of a luxury hotel on Saadiyat Island, supporting the creation of high‑quality desserts and pastries. This full‑time position reports to the Pastry Chef and contributes to daily service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook pastries and cold foods according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures and maintain food logs.
• Thaw frozen items, portion, arrange and garnish dishes, and monitor food quality and quantity.
• Communicate menu specials, out‑of‑stock items and excess food usage to service staff and the Chef.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling and performance coaching of kitchen staff.
• Follow all safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any incidents or maintenance needs.

Required profile

• Technical or vocational culinary education.
• Minimum three years of relevant pastry kitchen experience.
• Ability to work long periods standing, lift up to 25 lb, and perform repetitive movements.
• Professional appearance and confidentiality with proprietary information.

Required skills

• Proficiency in pastry preparation and baking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills and roasters.
