Design Engineer – Electrical & Mechanical Design

About the role

The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating and managing the electrical and mechanical design of HVAC products. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet technical specifications, standards, and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare wire cutting lists, cable tray layouts and cable routing diagrams.
• Estimate electrical bill of materials for components outside the control panel.
• Create specification sheets, item codes, and detailed drawings for gland plates, mounting plates and cable passage holes.
• Develop wiring diagrams and layout drawings using E‑plan and AutoCAD.
• Process work orders, handle design modifications, and ensure compliance with QHSE standards (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to verify adherence to quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical layout, electrical wiring, symbols and international standards (IEC, NEMA).
• Familiarity with major component brands such as ABB, Siemens, Carel, Danfoss and Honeywell.

Required skills

• Electrical design and BOM estimation.
• AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit for 3D design.
• E‑plan for wiring diagrams.
• Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Understanding of IEC and NEMA standards.
