Design Manager - Infrastructure

About the role

WSP is looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary infrastructure and master‑planning projects in Abu Dhabi and across the Middle East. The role involves overseeing design from concept through detailed design and construction support, while acting as the primary interface with clients, authorities and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage multidisciplinary design teams across roads, utilities, drainage, structures and public realm.
• Coordinate design inputs and ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi authority standards (e.g., DMT, ADM, ITC, Estidama).
• Manage design programmes, budgets, resources and deliverables to meet project timelines and quality standards.
• Conduct design risk management, value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Support bid preparation, technical proposals and client presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation preferred.
• 10–15 years of experience delivering large‑scale infrastructure and master‑planning projects in the UAE/Middle East.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in fast‑paced consultancy environments.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
