Diagnostic Radiographer – Hospital

About the role

A diagnostic radiographer is responsible for producing high‑quality medical images using X‑ray, angiography, fluoroscopy, CT and MRI equipment to aid in the diagnosis and treatment planning of patients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all radiological examinations for patients referred to the radiology department under the supervision of a radiologist.
• Assist the radiologist with contrast studies of the urinary tract, gastrointestinal tract and other systems.
• Conduct CT and MRI scans under the guidance of senior radiography staff.
• Carry out portable/mobile X‑ray examinations for patients who cannot be moved to the radiology suite.
• Operate C‑arm equipment in the operating theatre for intra‑operative imaging.
• Prepare and deliver examination reports, ensuring results are provided to patients on CD.
• Enter accurate records into the Hospital Information System and upload images to the PACS.
• Prepare patients, provide education, and enforce safety and quality‑control measures.

Required profile

• Valid DOH license or equivalent X‑ray/Radiography technologist exam result.
• Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Radiography or Imaging Technology.
• Minimum three years of experience as a radiographer in a hospital or medical centre.
• Current license in country of origin and HAAD license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Fluent spoken and written English; Arabic is advantageous.
• Self‑motivated, able to work under pressure and adhere to infection‑control and OSH policies.

Required skills

• Operation of X‑ray, angiography and fluoroscopy equipment.
• CT and MRI scanning proficiency.
• C‑arm radiology operation.
• Use of Hospital PACS and Hospital Information System (HIS) for image storage and data entry.
• Patient preparation, education and safety procedures.
