Director of Engineering – Resort Experience

About the role

The Director of Engineering is responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of the resort’s building, grounds and physical plant. This includes ensuring safety, security, asset protection, energy conservation and delivering services that exceed guest and employee expectations. The role also leads the emergency response team and oversees regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage engineering operations, budgets, capital‑expenditure projects and preventative‑maintenance programs.
• Oversee all plant systems including HVAC‑R, electrical, plumbing, water‑treatment, refrigeration and fire‑life‑safety equipment.
• Administer service contracts, monitor controllable expenses (heat, light, power, water) and drive energy‑conservation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and maintain current licenses, permits and certifications.
• Supervise construction projects to ensure timely, on‑budget completion and coordinate with regional engineering leadership.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with 6 years of engineering/maintenance experience, **or** an associate degree in Building & Construction, Engineering, Mechanics or related field with 4 years of experience.
• Technical training in HVAC‑R, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, capital projects and a large multidisciplinary team.
