Economics Teacher – Immediate Start

About the role

GEMS International School, Dubai Hills is seeking an experienced Economics Teacher to join its IB World School community. The role starts immediately and involves delivering inquiry‑based economics lessons to secondary students while fostering curiosity and critical thinking.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based economics lessons for MYP and DP students.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners, including EAL, gifted, and those needing additional support.
• Differentiate teaching strategies and integrate technology to enhance learning.
• Assess, record, and communicate student progress, using data to inform personalised support.
• Collaborate with colleagues on IB‑aligned curriculum design and assessment.
• Participate in co‑curricular activities, school events, and community initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with parents and the wider school community.

Required profile

• Degree‑level teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent) in Economics.
• Minimum three years of secondary Economics teaching experience, preferably within an IB curriculum.
• Passion for innovative, inquiry‑based teaching and a commitment to student wellbeing.
• Ability to start immediately and contribute to a collaborative, forward‑thinking school culture.
