Economist – Macro & Monetary Research

About the role

The Economist will lead ongoing economic research at a regional and global level, focusing on macro‑economic and monetary analysis, econometric modelling and related subjects to provide senior management with actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse economic data and research to assess implications for countries benefiting from the organisation’s contributions.
• Oversee research and statistical analysis on relevant topics and develop informed economic outlooks.
• Evaluate feasibility studies of submitted projects.
• Produce ad‑hoc reports for senior management to support strategic decision‑making.
• Direct and conduct competitive environment and market analysis, contributing to annual, quarterly reports and publications.
• Coordinate with engineers on survey and assessment missions worldwide.
• Track economic developments in major developed and emerging economies and study impact of company contributions.
• Maintain and update the macro‑economic and fiscal database following knowledge‑management standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Statistics.
• Fluency in Arabic (written, spoken, reading).
• 4–6 years of experience in economic and funding research.
• Eligible to work in the UAE/GCC region.
