Education Specialist – Geology

About the role

Support the Line Manager in delivering geology‑focused education programmes to visitors and the general public. The role aims to raise awareness of environmental issues, promote conservation and sustainability, and enhance enjoyment of the natural world through interpretation and outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Lead educational groups on tours, presentations and animal encounters, delivering conservation messages.
• Contribute to the park’s overall education strategy, including programme and resource development.
• Write reports and assist with data collection and analysis for educational activities.
• Train, mentor and support education officers, including performance appraisal input.
• Visit UAE organisations to give presentations and foster partnerships.
• Identify visitor education needs, work within budget constraints and evaluate current practices.
• Develop and organise events and awareness campaigns across the UAE.

Required profile

• University degree in Geology or a teaching degree with a teaching certificate/diploma (minimum).
• 3‑5 years experience in outdoor, practical education on environmental and conservation topics.
• Proven ability to develop courses and education programmes.
• Strong understanding of environmental issues, conservation and sustainability.
• Excellent teaching, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
