Electro-Optics Technician (Emirati Talent)

About the role

The Electro-Optics Technician will support the assembly, maintenance, and testing of optical and electro‑optical (EO) subsystems in a clean‑room environment. The role is focused on hands‑on work, troubleshooting, and ensuring that EO equipment meets performance specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble mechanical and optical sub‑assemblies, mount optical elements, and install them on optical benches under supervision.
• Troubleshoot EO systems, including power supplies, optics, and control units, following approved procedures.
• Perform calibration, alignment, functional checks, acceptance testing, and return‑to‑service activities.
• Operate standard alignment and test equipment such as autocollimators, interferometers, beam profilers, and spectrophotometers.
• Assist in aligning lenses and mirrors to meet defined performance requirements.
• Document maintenance actions, test results, equipment usage, and assembly records in compliance with quality standards.
• Follow safety, clean‑room, and contamination‑control procedures at all times.
• Collaborate with senior technicians, engineers, and cross‑functional teams during integration and testing.

Required profile

• Diploma or college degree in Electronics, Optics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of EO systems or optical components (training provided).
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Use of autocollimators, interferometers, beam profilers, and spectrophotometers.
• Calibration, alignment, and functional testing of optical components.
• Basic troubleshooting of EO hardware and control units.
• Clean‑room handling and contamination‑control practices.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
