English Second in Charge – Senior School (Dubai)

About the role

GEMS Wellington, Dubai Hills is seeking an experienced English Second in Charge to join the Senior School from January 2027. The role supports the Head of English in driving high‑quality teaching, curriculum delivery and pupil progress across Key Stages 3‑5.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of English with strategic and operational leadership of the department.
• Lead curriculum development, assessment design and data‑driven analysis.
• Oversee intervention programmes and quality assurance processes.
• Mentor and coach teachers, modelling exemplary classroom practice.
• Contribute to the school’s evidence‑informed teaching approach and professional learning programmes.

Required profile

• Strong subject knowledge in English Language and English Literature.
• Proven experience in middle‑leadership or department‑level roles.
• Commitment to the school’s core values of Ambition, Responsibility and Courage.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a high‑performing, inclusive environment.
