Experienced Pipe Fitter – Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

GCG Engineering Services, part of Ghobash Group, is seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to join its Oil & Gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves interpreting technical drawings and installing a variety of piping systems to meet project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, and construction specifications.
• Measure, cut, bevel, align, fit‑up and assemble pipes, fittings, valves, flanges and supports.
• Prepare pipe spools for welding, ensuring proper alignment and dimensional accuracy.
• Install carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steel piping systems, including butt weld, socket weld, threaded and flanged connections.
• Install pipe supports, hangers, guides and anchors as per approved drawings.
• Coordinate with welders, riggers and supervisors to complete piping activities efficiently.
• Conduct visual inspections of fit‑up and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Assist in hydro‑testing, flushing, pneumatic testing and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Pipe Fitter in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Relevant technical education (ITI or equivalent).
• Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, API and project‑specific piping standards.
• Willingness to work in remote locations as required.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.

Required skills

• Interpretation of piping isometric drawings, P&IDs and GA drawings.
• Pipe measurement, cutting, beveling and fit‑up.

• Butt weld, socket weld, threaded and flanged connection techniques.
