About the role
The Finishing Assistant will support the Finishing Section of a steel plant, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance to maximise production output while minimising downtime.
Key responsibilities
- Execute scheduled corrective maintenance and major repairs on finishing equipment.
- Implement production optimisation measures to reduce plant downtime.
- Perform predictive and preventive maintenance activities according to plant standards.
- Interpret engineering drawings and hydraulic circuit diagrams for troubleshooting.
- Assist with rigging and slinging operations when required.
Required profile
- Minimum ITI qualification in Mechanical Fitter Trade.
- 3‑5 years of hands‑on mechanical maintenance experience in a steel plant.
- Proven ability to work safely in a high‑temperature industrial environment.
