Fragrance Merchant – Retail Category Management

About the role

The Fragrance Merchant supports regional merchandising strategies for Sephora, adapting central assortment, allocation and activation plans to the local market. You will work closely with store teams, regional functions and the e‑commerce team to ensure product relevance, optimal inventory and a consistent client experience across all channels.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Category Director in developing and executing fragrance category strategies, including sales forecasting and stock planning.
• Manage SKU‑level assortments for assigned fragrance brands, aligning product mix with commercial objectives.
• Monitor stock levels across retail stores and e‑commerce platforms to guarantee availability for launches, promotions and key commercial moments.
• Maintain and optimise planograms to maximise brand visibility and merchandising excellence.
• Develop and manage the fragrance category calendar, covering new product launches, assortment expansions, store openings and discontinuations.
• Prepare country‑level sales forecasts in line with brand budgets and targets.
• Analyse inventory performance, identify overstock or slow‑moving risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct regular assortment reviews and provide market insights to improve offer effectiveness.

Required profile

• Experience in retail merchandising or category management, preferably within the beauty or fragrance sector.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales and inventory data.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with store teams, regional functions and e‑commerce teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
