FSTD Support Technician II (English)

About the role

The FSTD Support Technician II provides technical support for Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices. You will perform maintenance, device setup, conversions, demonstrations and assist during training sessions while ensuring safety and operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Attend maintenance calls, set up devices, perform conversions and demos, and support SFTs/PVCs.
• Execute Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs) and Daily Readiness (DR) on training devices, sign off work and close deficiencies.
• Run recurrent QTGs, troubleshoot low‑level issues using schematics and system documentation.
• Record, track and review all maintenance activities in the Maintenance Management System and produce routine reports.
• Provide on‑the‑job training to Simulator Technicians I and Technical Assistants.
• Update navigation databases, charts, documents and performance data, and manage IOS lesson plan uploads.
• Maintain consumables, tools, inventories and support logistics for shipping and store organization.
• Perform housekeeping, administrative duties and comply with CAE Environmental Health & Safety standards.

Required profile

• Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical or Aviation.
• 3–5 years of experience with simulation training devices.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.

Required skills

• Preventive Maintenance on simulation devices.
• Troubleshooting of electronic, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Interpretation of schematics and technical documentation.
• Use of test equipment safely and efficiently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Basic computer networking knowledge.
• Experience with Maintenance Management Systems.
