General Manager – Pipe Fabrication Plant

About the role

The Shaw Group is seeking a seasoned General Manager to lead its high‑performance pipe fabrication manufacturing unit in Abu Dhabi. This full‑time, on‑site position oversees all aspects of production, quality, safety and profitability, driving continuous improvement in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute long‑term strategies to boost capacity, efficiency and margins.
• Lead cross‑functional teams across production, procurement, logistics and quality.
• Manage the complete pipe fabrication process – cutting, welding, bending, coating and assembly – ensuring schedules are met.
• Implement and monitor KPIs such as throughput, cycle time, yield and equipment utilization.
• Establish quality standards (ASME, API, ISO) and supervise NDT, hydro‑testing and dimensional inspections.
• Prepare and control operational budgets, capital expenditures and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in pipe fabrication or related heavy‑industry manufacturing.
• Strong strategic mindset with hands‑on operational expertise.
• Demonstrated ability to drive cost control, process optimisation and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Pipe fabrication processes (cutting, welding, bending, coating, assembly).
• Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) and hydro‑testing.
• Knowledge of ASME, API and ISO standards.
• Budget management and financial performance monitoring.
• Procurement negotiation and supplier management.
