Generator/Frequency Converter Technician – UAE

About the role

The Generator/Frequency Converter Technician will support the Patriot MEIs by testing, operating, maintaining and repairing power generation and frequency conversion equipment deployed in the United Arab Emirates. This short‑term, onsite assignment is based in Abu Dhabi and includes on‑the‑job training of UAE military technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Test, operate, maintain and repair diesel generators and tactical frequency converters (15 kW/400 Hz, 30 kW/400 Hz, 150 kW/400 Hz).
• Transfer knowledge to UAE military personnel using on‑the‑job training principles.
• Ensure all work follows US Army maintenance doctrine (AR 750‑1).
• Coordinate with equipment manufacturers for technical support as needed.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with an active, transferable Secret DoD security clearance.
• Graduate of the U.S. Army Power Generation Equipment Repairer (MOS 52D) course or equivalent technical training.
• Minimum two years of experience repairing and refurbishing diesel generators.

Required skills

• Troubleshooting and fault isolation of power generation equipment.
• Disassembly, repair, assembly and checkout of Lechmotoren generators.
• Familiarity with 15 kW/400 Hz, 30 kW/400 Hz and 150 kW/400 Hz diesel generators.
