Geotechnical Design Engineer

About the role

The Geotechnical Design Engineer will lead the analysis, design and assessment of a variety of geotechnical structures such as foundations, retaining walls, slopes and ground improvement systems. The role supports the Lead Geotechnical Engineer in tender evaluations, project design and client interactions, ensuring all deliverables meet quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse geotechnical data, prepare Geotechnical Interpretative Reports (GIR) and perform calculations for design proposals.
• Design foundations, retaining walls, slopes and ground improvement systems using specialised software.
• Conduct site investigations, review third‑party designs and verify geotechnical aspects of construction proposals.
• Assess soil parameters and stability of structures under normal and seismic conditions.
• Develop design drawings, specifications and ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and health‑safety policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Geotechnical or Geology) or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering and design experience in related industries.

Required skills

• Geotechnical analysis and soil parameter evaluation.
• Design of foundations, retaining walls, slopes and ground improvement systems.
• Preparation of Geotechnical Interpretative Reports (GIR).
• Use of specialised geotechnical design software.
• Stability assessment under seismic conditions.
