Group Logistics Manager – International Trading & Distribution

About the role

The Group Logistics Manager will lead the international logistics function for a global trading and distribution group. Based in Dubai, you will own end‑to‑end sea, air and road freight operations across multiple continents, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery of goods.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle sea, air and road freight, including FCL/LCL and multimodal shipments.
• Coordinate shipments to and from the UK, Europe, USA, Africa and other markets.
• Oversee logistics for African markets such as Tanzania, Madagascar and Djibouti.
• Negotiate freight rates and maintain relationships with forwarders, carriers, trucking firms and customs agents.
• Handle customs clearance, HS codes, import/export documentation and compliance.
• Monitor ETAs, lead times, customs status and final deliveries.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, route alternatives and consolidation options.
• Maintain accurate logistics records, trackers and reporting.
• Collaborate with sales, commercial teams and senior management to provide shipment visibility.
• Proactively resolve delays, customs issues and other logistics challenges.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in international logistics, freight forwarding or supply chain.
• Hands‑on expertise in sea, air and road freight.
• Proven track record in managing imports/exports, customs clearance and freight negotiations.
• Strong knowledge of shipping documentation and HS codes.
• Experience handling multiple shipments across diverse trade lanes.
• Exposure to UK, Europe, USA and/or African markets; East‑Africa experience highly desirable.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
