Handyman – Luxury Desert Resort

About the role

As a Handyman at Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa, you will perform skilled masonry, civil and maintenance work across public areas and guest rooms, ensuring all tasks comply with relevant codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain interlock roads, sand levels, and guest room canopies.
• Perform preventive maintenance on guest rooms and update the maintenance system.
• Collect waste from main building, accommodation, and staff areas.
• Carry out minor plumbing repairs and tile grouting, blocking, and other civil works.
• Assist with energy‑conservation programs and serve on the hotel emergency response team.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hotel engineering or related maintenance experience.
• Technical, trade or vocational certificate/diploma (or equivalent).
• Ability to read and follow blueprints or schematics.

Required skills

• Reading blueprints/schematics.
• Installation, testing and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment.
• Knowledge of HVAC codes (local and ASHRAE) and related tools.
• Lock/Tag‑Out protocol and OSHA safety procedures.
• Masonry work – mixing mortar, laying bricks, stone and concrete, and tile installation.
• Basic plumbing repair.
• Vehicle operation for transport of materials.
