About the role

Jumeirah College in Dubai is seeking an experienced Head of Arabic and Islamic Studies to lead a highly regarded department. The role involves shaping curriculum, supporting staff, and ensuring students achieve outstanding exam results comparable to top UK schools.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Arabic and Islamic Studies department.
• Design, develop and continuously improve the curriculum to meet high academic standards.
• Manage, mentor and evaluate teaching staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Monitor student progress and implement interventions to maximise performance.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on school-wide initiatives and quality assurance.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Arabic language and a Bachelor in Education (or equivalent). Distance or open‑university degrees are not accepted; all certificates must be attested.
• Strong belief that every student can achieve top performance and the drive to enable it.
• Relevant experience that contributes to an enriched curriculum programme.
• Ability to obtain a UK‑enhanced DBS or equivalent police check.
