Head of Grants & Project Development

About the role

The Head of Grants & Project Development will lead Energetech’s new grant‑strategy pillar, bridging development finance with commercial infrastructure delivery in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This senior position focuses on unlocking DFI, bilateral and multilateral funding to finance waste processing, energy and circular‑economy assets.

Key responsibilities

• Map and assess funding instruments from DFIs, EU mechanisms, USAID, AfDB and bilateral programmes against Energetech’s active project pipeline.
• Lead application strategy and execution for targeted instruments, coordinating legal, technical and in‑country workstreams.
• Structure grant‑facing project entities to preserve commercial control and long‑term asset ownership.
• Manage funder relationships, ensure compliance and deliver reporting from award through project completion.
• Build Energetech’s standing and track record with development finance partners.

Required profile

• Senior professional with proven experience in development finance, grant acquisition and infrastructure project development.
• Deep knowledge of DFI, EU, USAID, AfDB and bilateral development funding mechanisms.
• Demonstrated ability to work alongside legal, technical and local teams to advance complex projects.
• Strong relationship‑management skills with funders and institutional stakeholders.
• Experience in the energy, waste management or circular‑economy sectors is a plus.
