Head of Maths Department

About the role

GEMS Metropole School in Dubai is seeking an experienced leader to head its Maths department. The successful candidate will drive the department’s vision, ensure high‑quality teaching, and support both staff and students in achieving academic excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Maths department, overseeing curriculum delivery and staff performance.
• Implement outstanding teaching and learning practices across classrooms and the wider department.
• Coordinate GCSE and A‑Level (or equivalent) programmes and ensure alignment with the National Curriculum for England.
• Organise and participate in extra‑curricular activities related to mathematics.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategic plans and departmental budgets.

Required profile

• Certified teaching qualification with exceptional subject knowledge.
• Proven experience teaching GCSE and A‑Level (or equivalent) mathematics.
• Track record of outstanding teaching and learning outcomes.
• Significant experience with the National Curriculum for England.
• B.Ed. or relevant bachelor’s degree plus PGCE/PGDE or equivalent.
