Head of Primary English – Mamoura British Academy

About the role

Aldar Academies are seeking an outstanding Head of Primary English for Mamoura British Academy, starting in January 2027. The role leads the English department across the Lower, Middle and Senior School phases, shaping curriculum delivery and fostering a culture of excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the school’s vision and strategic direction, ensuring alignment with the academy’s ethos.
• Lead and organise team and planning meetings, providing clear guidance and support to teachers and teaching assistants.
• Teach across the Primary English National Curriculum, creating engaging lessons that cater to the full ability range.
• Monitor assessment data, use Learning Ladders to track progress, and plan interventions to exceed expected outcomes.
• Uphold behaviour management policies, model positive values, and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed.

Required profile

• A supportive, approachable team player who collaborates effectively with colleagues.
• Excellent communicator at all levels, building positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents.
• Commitment to the school’s high‑expectations culture and continuous improvement.
• Passion for inspiring young learners and instilling awe and wonder in their learning.
• Minimum three years teaching experience in the English National Curriculum, with leadership experience desirable.
