Head of Student Welfare

About the role

The Head of Student Welfare will lead the school’s pastoral provision, house system, educational visits, and EP/ASA programmes. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure the wellbeing of every student and help realise the school’s vision of empowering innovative, creative problem‑solvers.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and safeguard student development and wellbeing across the campus.
• Lead teaching and learning initiatives related to student welfare policies.
• Manage and develop the welfare team, including recruitment, coaching and performance management.
• Oversee resources, budgets and logistics for pastoral activities and educational visits.
• Represent student welfare interests to staff, parents and external partners.

Required profile

• B.Ed. or equivalent degree with a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE).
• Minimum three years of experience teaching the National Curriculum for England.
• Proven record of outstanding teaching and learning outcomes.
• Previous experience in a senior student‑welfare or pastoral leadership role.
