Homeroom Teacher – Cycle 1 (Ages 5‑8)

About the role

The school is seeking a qualified Homeroom Teacher for Cycle 1 (ages 5‑8) to deliver the British National Curriculum, EYFS/Key Stage 1, or comparable international programmes. The successful candidate will join a multicultural community in Abu Dhabi and contribute to high‑quality, inquiry‑based learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lessons aligned with the chosen curriculum, ensuring age‑appropriate pedagogy.
• Assess student progress using formative and summative data, adapting instruction for diverse learning needs.
• Maintain effective classroom management and positive behaviour guidance.
• Integrate educational technology such as interactive whiteboards and online learning platforms into instruction.
• Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and support staff to support student development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) or relevant subject plus a PGCE; teaching licence recognised in the UAE.
• 2‑3 years of full‑time primary teaching experience with ages 5‑8, preferably in an international school.
• Experience with British National Curriculum, EYFS/Key Stage 1, American Common Core or IB PYP.
• Ability to obtain ADEK licensing and MOE equivalency upon appointment.
• Clear criminal record check and medical fitness for UAE residency.

Required skills

• High proficiency with interactive whiteboards.
• Competence in G Suite for Education and Microsoft Office 365.
• Use of online learning platforms and student information systems.
• Strong analytical skills for assessment data interpretation.
