About the role
As the HR Operations Lead at Mal, you will shape people processes and strategies for an innovative neo‑bank operating under Sharia principles. Based in Dubai, you will work closely with senior leadership to build an inclusive, high‑performing workplace that attracts and retains talent aligned with ethical banking values.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily HR operations, ensuring process excellence and regulatory compliance.
- Design and implement HR strategies that align with Mal’s mission, business goals, and Sharia guidelines.
- Lead employee engagement and cultural initiatives to foster a positive, inclusive environment.
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, talent acquisition, and retention.
- Maintain HR policies, processes, and documentation in line with labor laws and Sharia requirements.
- Analyse HR data and metrics to support strategic decision‑making and continuous improvement.
- Champion the use of Notion and other digital tools for HR process optimisation and knowledge management.
Required profile
- Proven experience building and leading HR functions, preferably in a fast‑growth fintech or financial services startup.
- Deep knowledge of employment regulations, HR compliance, and Sharia‑related HR practices.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑influence skills.
- Track record of managing complex HR projects and change initiatives.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) is desirable.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency with HRIS systems.
- HR data analytics capabilities.
- Experience using Notion or similar digital collaboration platforms.
