About the role

Dubai American Academy, GEMS Education’s flagship American school, is seeking a passionate High School Social Science Teacher to join its vibrant community with an immediate start. The role involves delivering the school’s curriculum to a diverse international student body while fostering curiosity and critical thinking.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, inquiry‑based Social Science lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and standards.
• Develop and implement creative teaching strategies that inspire a love of Social Science.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive, supportive learning environment.
• Ensure continuity of curriculum delivery and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
• Foster an inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and exploration.
• Participate in parent‑teacher conferences and maintain open communication about student progress.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education degree or an initial degree plus a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, PGDE or equivalent) with a specialism in Social Sciences.
• Proven experience teaching High School Social Science.
• Strong commitment to student‑centred, inquiry‑based learning.
• Ability to start immediately and contribute to the school’s academic excellence.
