HVAC Technical Engineer (Marine & Offshore)

About the role

The Technical Engineer – HVAC will lead engineering activities for HVAC and refrigeration systems on marine and offshore vessels, ensuring reliable operation, compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and commissioning of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Manage preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, schematics and P&IDs.
• Diagnose technical failures and propose engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with workshop teams, OEMs, contractors, vendors, logistics and project teams.
• Support procurement, spare‑parts planning, inspections, testing and performance reporting.
• Ensure adherence to company procedures, engineering standards, classification rules and HSE regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, design and electrical control systems.
• Experience in marine, offshore support vessels or dredging vessels preferred.

Required skills

• HVAC and refrigeration system expertise.
• Electrical control systems and PLC programming.
• Automation and commissioning knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and P&IDs.
• Preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance planning.
