IB Primary Year Program Homeroom Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Homeroom Teacher to join GEMS World Academy in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will lead a primary classroom, delivering the IB curriculum and fostering a dynamic, inquiry‑based learning environment for motivated students.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess the IB PYP curriculum in a homeroom setting.
• Create engaging, student‑centred learning experiences that align with IB standards.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate with grade‑level teams and subject specialists to support interdisciplinary learning.
• Provide regular feedback to students, parents and school leadership.
• Participate in professional development and school community events.

Required profile

• Recognised primary‑years teaching qualification at degree level (e.g., B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent).
• Minimum two years of experience teaching IB PYP homeroom classes in an international school.
• Strong passion for delivering high‑quality education and continuous improvement.
