Individuals & Societies Teacher – Start Jan 2027

About the role

GEMS International School, Dubai Hills is seeking experienced Individuals & Societies teachers to join a fully authorised IB World School. The position starts in January 2027 and aims to inspire confident, curious, and compassionate global citizens.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver inquiry‑based lessons that foster curiosity and critical thinking.
• Create an inclusive classroom that supports diverse learning styles, including EAL and gifted students.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
• Integrate technology and innovative approaches to enhance engagement.
• Assess, record, and communicate student progress using data‑driven feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues on IB‑aligned curriculum design and assessment.
• Contribute to co‑curricular activities, school events, and community initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with parents and the wider school community.

Required profile

• A degree‑level teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent) in History, Geography, Politics, International Relations, Economics or Social Sciences.
• Minimum three years of secondary I&S teaching experience, preferably within an IB curriculum.
• Experience with MYP and DP is desirable.
• Passion for innovative, inquiry‑based teaching and a commitment to the IB Learner Profile.
• Availability to start in January 2027.
