Internal Auditor - Natural Resources & Energy Services

About the role

BDO UAE is seeking an Internal Auditor to lead risk advisory and internal audit engagements for its Natural Resources & Energy Services practice. You will work across Oil & Gas, Energy, Metals & Mining, and Manufacturing sectors, delivering comprehensive risk assessments and audit reports.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and manage internal audit engagements across the specified sectors.
• Conduct detailed risk assessments to identify operational, financial and compliance risks.
• Evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls and risk‑management processes.
• Provide actionable recommendations to improve controls and boost operational efficiency.
• Support the development and implementation of enterprise risk management frameworks.
• Prepare and present comprehensive audit reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior audit team members and contribute to business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CFA or CPA qualification (mandatory).
• Minimum 4 years post‑qualification experience in internal audit, ICOFR or risk advisory.
• Proven experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Metals & Mining or Manufacturing industries.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Excellent communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
