Junior Human-Centered Designer

About the role

The Junior Human-Centered Designer will join Dubai Design Lab’s multidisciplinary teams to support the creation of innovative services, policies, and strategies. Working on live projects, you will help translate human insights into tangible design solutions that shape Dubai’s future.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with qualitative and mixed‑method research, including interviews, field observations, and stakeholder engagements.
• Conduct secondary research, benchmarking, and map user journeys, service ecosystems, and system dynamics.
• Contribute to synthesis outputs such as insight frameworks, personas, opportunity areas, and design principles.
• Collaborate with design, strategy, and policy teams to prototype ideas and iterate based on user feedback.
• Support the development of tools, frameworks, and narratives that bridge research and design outcomes.
• Participate in workshops, design sprints, and co‑creation sessions with academic, government, and industry partners.
• Translate research findings into clear visual summaries, presentations, and case documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in service design, UX/UI design, interaction design, industrial design, architecture, strategic design, anthropology, sociology, journalism or a related field.
• Strong interest in human‑centered design and ability to listen deeply to users.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
