Lead Technical Safety Engineer – Oil & Gas

About the role

Wood is seeking a Lead Technical Safety Engineer to join the PMC HSE Design team supporting the ADNOC Offshore project in Abu Dhabi. The role will be based at the client’s office and involves ensuring technical safety compliance across complex offshore designs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and review of technical safety documentation for offshore facilities.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to optimise design for safety and compliance.
• Perform hazard analyses, risk assessments and equipment sizing calculations.
• Ensure adherence to client and regulatory standards, including ADNOC and international codes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in technical safety engineering within oil & gas.
• Proven track record in HSE design for offshore projects.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and engineering compliance.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work on‑site with client teams.
