Locum Approvals – Inpatient & Outpatient

About the role

Assists the Medical Advisor and Medical Officer on all insurance issues and coordinates with staff and insurance companies for direct billing arrangements at American Hospital Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinates with Patient Relations, Nursing, Physicians and Finance to ensure insurance formalities are followed, minimizing objections and delays.
• Monitors and follows up on prior authorizations for outpatient and inpatient services.
• Conducts claims analysis before submission to insurance companies.
• Reconciles paid and outstanding claims with insurance companies, coordinating with Finance.
• Applies functional and business knowledge to meet insurance company requirements.
• Anticipates departmental needs, sets priorities and follows policies and procedures.
• Identifies problems, takes corrective action and assumes responsibility for resolutions.
• Supports hospital and department policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any field (medical preferred).
• Minimum three years of experience in a similar role.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of hospital operations.
• Leadership and relationship‑management abilities.
• Organised, thorough and analytical.

Required skills

• Computer literacy.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office.
