Material Engineer – Railway Civil & MEP Works

About the role

We are seeking experienced Material Engineers to support a major railway infrastructure project in the UAE, covering both civil and MEP works. The role involves managing material submittals, reviewing technical documentation, coordinating approvals, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and construction schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate material submittals and approval processes for railway civil and MEP works.
• Review material technical specifications, datasheets, certificates and manufacturers' documentation for compliance.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers and manufacturers to secure timely material approvals.
• Monitor material approval status, maintain submittal registers and ensure approved materials are available according to project schedules.
• Identify and resolve material‑related technical discrepancies and escalates delays to minimise impact on construction.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in major construction and infrastructure projects, preferably railway civil and/or MEP works.
• Proven experience in material engineering, submittal management and material approval procedures.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, international standards and testing requirements.
• Excellent technical coordination, documentation and communication skills.
