Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Western Area

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will perform preventive, breakdown and shutdown maintenance on plant equipment to ensure safe and reliable production. Working within the Western Area maintenance team, you will support quality, safety and operational targets through hands‑on technical work.

Key responsibilities

• Execute routine and preventive maintenance tasks, replace worn parts and conduct test runs.
• Carry out major overhauls, verify clearances and determine part usage for continuous equipment availability.
• Diagnose complex faults, inspect and test completed work to confirm efficient performance.
• Prepare daily activity reports detailing faults, work performed, materials, labour and time spent.
• Identify and procure spare parts and tools required for maintenance activities.
• Install, modify and test new equipment according to plans and supervisor instructions.
• Suggest improvements, assist senior staff with system modifications, and update maintenance records and drawings.
• Generate near‑miss reports and contribute to method statements.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in a relevant mechanical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands‑on mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
