Medical Scribe – Health Information Management

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Scribe to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves accompanying physicians during patient visits, documenting interactions in real time, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of electronic health records.

Key responsibilities

• Accompany physicians and document patient encounters directly into the electronic health record (EHR).
• Prepare and assemble medical charts before and after visits.
• Transcribe patient histories, examinations, procedures, lab results, and physician observations.
• Produce and proofread a wide range of medical reports, including discharge summaries, operative reports, and progress notes.
• Translate medical slang and abbreviations into their expanded forms.
• Clarify unclear dictations by cross‑checking lab, radiology, and medication data.
• Submit transcribed reports for physician review and signature.
• Operate and troubleshoot word‑processing, dictation, and transcription equipment.
• Identify and correct inconsistencies, duplicate records, and documentation errors.
• Report unusual circumstances or potential risk factors to the line manager.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, physiology and disease processes.
• Excellent command of English language rules, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
• Ability to work with physicians of various accents and dictation styles.
• Attention to detail and ability to edit without altering the original meaning.
• Proactive communication skills for clarifying information with clinical staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Experience using medical transcription and dictation software.
• Competence in word‑processing tools (e.g., Microsoft Word).
