Member of Technical Staff – Models & Learning

About the role

WYLE is building Buddy, a personal intelligence that lives alongside a single user for years, continuously learning from decisions, actions and outcomes. We are seeking a Member of Technical Staff to drive the core models and learning algorithms that enable this persistent, aligned intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and evaluate model training pipelines, reinforcement‑learning and preference‑learning loops, and continual‑learning mechanisms.
• Develop synthetic environments, verifiers, and evaluation frameworks for inference‑time learning, specialist models, reward models and model adaptation.
• Turn research hypotheses into production‑ready code, training runs and rigorous evaluation metrics without a fully specified ticket.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to go beyond existing methods, reproduce research, break it and propose better alternatives.
• Comfortable bridging research and engineering, building end‑to‑end systems from experiment to working product.
• Willingness to challenge ideas, including those of senior staff, and provide evidence‑based conclusions.
