Network Specialist – Emirati Talent

About the role

The Specialist IT Network role supports EDGE Group’s Advanced Concepts division by designing, deploying and maintaining secure, reliable network infrastructure for high‑technology autonomous systems. The position is open to Emirati talent and is based in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls and wireless access points.
• Ensure network scalability, reliability and security to meet current and future demands.
• Implement and maintain network security protocols, including NIST 800‑53 and CNSSI 1253 compliance.
• Diagnose and resolve network incidents promptly to minimise downtime.
• Monitor network performance using management tools and perform regular maintenance.
• Maintain accurate inventory, documentation and software license records.
• Lead network‑related projects from planning through execution.
• Collaborate with IT support, other departments and vendors.
• Contribute to IT policy development and recommend technology enhancements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in network security administration.
• At least 3 years in a network management role for a mid‑sized organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).
• Strong understanding of data classification, least‑privilege access and encryption technologies.

Required skills

• Configuration and management of routers, switches, firewalls, NAC and wireless access points.
• Network security protocols (IPSEC, SSL, PKI) and vulnerability/patch management.
• Automation scripting using Python or Bash.
• Network virtualization (VMware NSX, Cisco ACI).
• Identity Access Management (IAM) and Role‑Based Access Controls (RBAC).
• Familiarity with NIST 800‑53, CNSSI 1253 and data security zones.
