Occupational Therapist – Acute Care & Rehab

About the role

The Occupational Therapist will deliver safe, evidence‑based therapy services within an acute care and rehabilitation setting. Working under the supervision of a senior OT, you will assess and treat patients with diverse and complex needs to support their functional recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, psychological and social needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans using advanced clinical reasoning.
• Evaluate patient progress and modify treatment programs as required.
• Maintain a personal caseload and manage referrals according to departmental policy.
• Communicate diagnosis and treatment plans effectively to patients, families and care teams, using verbal and non‑verbal tools.
• Create discharge plans and coordinate ongoing care with relevant professionals.
• Document all clinical observations, reports and statistics in line with service policies.
• Keep clinical knowledge up‑to‑date and meet CPD/CME requirements.
• Assist senior OT with inventory management of supplies and equipment.
• Adhere to safety, health and quality control procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years post‑graduate experience as an Occupational Therapist in acute care or rehabilitation settings.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy (minimum three‑year program) or an MSc in Occupational Therapy.
• Professional licensure appropriate for practice in the UAE.
