Onshore Commissioning Engineer

About the role

Gradiant is seeking an experienced Onshore Commissioning Engineer to lead the installation, commissioning and handover of water and wastewater treatment plants. You will work on‑site in Abu Dhabi, ensuring projects meet technical specifications, schedules and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation of Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), Ultrafiltration (UF), Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Demineralization (DM) systems.
• Plan and execute pre‑commissioning checks, system testing, performance validation and commissioning activities.
• Prepare detailed commissioning schedules, material requirement lists and site planning documents.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, internal engineering teams, vendors and subcontractors.
• Conduct equipment inspections, piping & instrumentation checks, and integrate electrical and control systems.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards and HSE policies.
• Support project handover, including documentation, training and client acceptance.

Required profile

• Strong practical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Hands‑on experience supervising installation and site execution.
• Ability to develop commissioning schedules and material plans.
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Effective communication and client coordination skills.
• Familiarity with safety standards and site compliance requirements.
• Willingness to travel and work on‑site.
