Outpatient Pharmacist – Dubai

About the role

The Outpatient Pharmacist will join the Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre in Dubai, delivering safe and accurate medication dispensing for ambulatory patients. You will work within a high‑volume outpatient pharmacy, supporting patient‑centred care and contributing to medication safety initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Review, verify and dispense outpatient prescriptions in line with DOH, JCI and hospital standards.
• Provide patient counselling on medication use, dosing, precautions and storage.
• Maintain timely dispensing to meet patient flow and waiting‑time targets.
• Identify and resolve therapeutic duplications, drug interactions and other medication‑related issues.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to clarify and optimise medication orders.
• Support medication safety programmes, including LASA management and high‑alert medication guidelines.
• Manage inventory control, monitor expiries and ensure proper storage conditions.
• Document interventions and participate in quality‑improvement activities.
• Attend department meetings, training sessions and competency assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Valid Department of Health (DOH) pharmacy licence.
• 2–5 years of experience in an outpatient or hospital pharmacy setting.
