Patient Access Representative – Healthcare Front Desk

About the role

The Patient Access Representative ensures accurate and timely entry of patient information, schedules appointments, and verifies financial eligibility for admissions. Working in a fast‑paced hospital environment, the role requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality customer service for patients, families, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Enter demographic, insurance, and other patient data into the Hospital Information System (HIS).
• Schedule appointments, registrations, and admissions while confirming financial coverage.
• Verify eligibility, obtain necessary approvals, and complete supporting documentation.
• Perform billing, reconciliation, and cashier duties.
• Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Handle multi‑tasking in a high‑volume setting and meet quantitative targets.
• Participate in departmental meetings, cross‑functional teams, and training activities.
• Work flexible shifts, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Required profile

• 0–2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a large healthcare facility.
• Diploma in a relevant field; a bachelor’s degree is desirable.
• Strong punctuality, attention to detail, and customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Hospital Information System (HIS) for data entry and scheduling.
