Pediatric Manager – Inpatient Services

About the role

Reporting to the DCNO of Women’s and Children’s services, the Paediatric Manager provides high‑level leadership for nursing and operations across the Paediatric Service line. The role ensures clinical and operational processes are developed and implemented in the Paediatric ICU/HDU, Liver Transplant Programme, inpatient and outpatient services, and satellite school clinics.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visible clinical nursing leadership across the designated OPD Institute, acting as a role model for professional practice and patient‑centred care.
• Lead and manage the Paediatric division, maintaining effective relationships with consultant medical staff and the nursing team to coordinate operational requirements.
• Motivate, develop and sustain high staff morale, fostering a climate of openness and high standards.
• Develop patient‑focused services, identifying future financial, capital and workforce needs and meeting contractual performance targets.
• Collaborate with clinical colleagues in a shared‑governance model to establish and monitor care protocols, improving outcomes and reducing length of stay.
• Undertake appraisals for direct reports and implement personal development plans.
• Review patient feedback and monitor KPIs as set by the Chief Nursing Office.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
• Current valid DHA nursing licence or eligibility for DHA registration.
• Relevant master’s level studies preferred.
• Minimum five years recent experience managing a team of nurses.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, guiding and supporting the team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
